The Saihoji temple is commonly known as The Moss garden temple or Kokedera temple.
It has a dry landscape garden and the garden covered with 20 kinds of moss.
We heard it is spontaneous moss after destroyed by fire during the battle in 1470 and it has since been rebuilt in Edo priod.
Until 1977, the temple was open to admission to the general public, but currently visitors are admitted only by prior application by return postcard.It is impossible from overseas.

The fee to visit the temple (3000yen/person) is the highest in Kyoto,but it is really valuable.
Before being permitted access to the garden, visitors must hand-copying of sutra.
